Who is Lord Ganesha
Ganesha, often referred to as Ganesh, also known as Ganapati, Vinayaka, and Pillaiyar Ganesha, is among the most well-known and revered gods in the Hindu pantheon. According to Hindu mythology, Ganesha is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
While Ganesha is a god with many qualities, He identified with his elephant head. He, in particular, is the one who removes obstacles and is believed to bring luck to the people, the patron of the arts and sciences, and the God of intellect and wisdom.
As Ganesha is the God of beginnings, Ganesha is honoured at the beginning of ceremonies and rituals. Ganesha is also regarded as the patron of learning and letters when writing.
His name translates to two things “Lord of the Nation” or “Lord of the Ganas” Ganesha is potbellied and usually depicted in his hands with a handful of round Indian sweets that he is very loved.
The vehicle he rides (Vahana) can be described as the substantial Indian bandicoot, representing Ganesha’s ability to defeat any obstacle to achieve his desires.

Lord Ganesha’s birth story
One day Goddess Parvati is an embodiment of Devi, the Parashakti (Supreme Energy). She was in her house on Kailash mountain, getting ready for an evening bath. Because she didn’t want to disturb her family, she asked Nandi, her husband’s Bull guarding the door, to ensure that no person passed through.
Nandi always remained faithful to her post in the hope of executing Parvati’s wishes. However, when Shiva arrived (Shiva the Lord and the supreme Teacher)home and naturally desired to enter, Nandi had to let Shiva go, as he was most loyal to Shiva.
Parvati was furious at this snub, but more so, she was angry because she didn’t have anyone like herself who was as faithful to her in the same way as Nandi did to Shiva.
Thus, after removing this turmeric mixture (for bathing) from her body and infusing breath into it, Ganesha was born Ganesha to be her faithful son.
When the next Parvati would like to shower in the bath, she placed Ganesha on guard duty at the door. When he was ready, Shiva came home but was shocked to discover this odd boy telling him that he could not access his home!
Disappointed, Shiva ordered his army to take down the boy. However, they were unsuccessful! What power did Ganesha possess since he was his father and Devi Herself!
The incident shocked Shiva. Aware that this was not a normal kid, the ordinarily tranquil Shiva determined he needed to take on Ganesha.
In his rage, he struck Ganesha’s head and killed him immediately. When Parvati heard about the incident, she was angry and irritated that she resolved to destroy the whole Creation!

Lord Brahma, the creator naturally, had concerns about this and demanded that Parvati reconsider her radical plan.
However, she stated that she would only do so if Ganesha were restored to the realm.
Shiva, who had cooled down at this point and recognised his error, accepted Parvati’s request. He made Nandi out with the instructions to return that head from the creature he sees first.
He crosses, lying on its back with the headset, to North. Nandi returned to bring back the head of an influential and powerful elephant head, and Shiva was placed on Ganesha’s back.
Infusing new life into him, He declared Ganesha to be his son. Shiva blessed him that all other gods forever adored him. Gave Ganesha the honour of being the highest among gods and the leader of all Ganas (classes of gods), Ganapati.
