Guruvayoor Temple online booking: Guruvayoor Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Guruvayurappan (Lord Vishnu’s four-armed avatar), located in Guruvayoor(Guruvayur), Kerala, India. It is also Bhuloka Vaikunta and is one of the most well-known Hindu pilgrimage locations in Kerala (Holy Abode of Lord Vishnu On Earth).

Lord Vishnu was worshipped as Krishna, his form of Krishna. Standing with four arms, Vishnu has the Panchajanya conch and the discus Sudarshana Chakra, the mace Kaumodaki, and an ossuary with the Holy basil garland at the center. 

The magnificent appearance of Vishnu that Krishna showed to his father and mother Vasudeva and Devaki during the time of Krishna’s birth is depicted in this painting. Guruvayur temple history

There is a reference to Kuruvayur in the Tamil writing “Kokasandesam,” which refers to a location referred “Kuruvayur” in the 14th century. Kuruvai is the “sea” in Old Tamil, so the town located on the Malabar Coast could be called Kuruvayur.

The first temple records date from the 17th century. The first mention of Kerala’s many important Vishnu temples can be seen in Always Tamil saints’ lyrics, whose timetable is unclear. Guruvayur, however, on the other hand, was the most sought-after pilgrimage destination in Kerala towards the end 15th-century.

Guruvayur was destroyed in the hands of the Dutch in 1716. The treasures were taken and killed when the Western Gopuram was set on fire (later restored in 1747). The Dutch destroyed the Trikkunavay Temple in 1755 caused the Brahmins to run away.

Hyder Ali of Mysore vanquished Kozhikkode (Calicut) and Guruvayur in 1766. To protect the Temple, He demanded an amount of 10,000 fanatics as a ransom. He eventually paid. However, pilgrims retreated due to fear. Hyder Ali gave a Devadaya to help save the Temple at the request of Malabar Governor Shrnivasa Rao. Tippu Sultan attacked the area.

Temple covered with copper sheets between 1859-1892. In 1900 the Temple’s administrator Konti Menon established the time for worship and led the effort to preserve the Temple open and Clean. He also restored Pattaya Pura and installed the enormous bell (granary). Kozhikode managed Guruvayur for the second time in 1928.

A massive fire was sparked within the Temple on 30 November 1970, burning through all Chuttambalam and everything else in Vilakkumatam on the south, west, and north sides.

People can view God Guruvayoorappa by stepping through the online queue. The 600 people who have booked their advance online reservations will be allowed to visit the Temple on a particular day. 

The hours of entry are between 9.30 am to 1.30 pm. It is possible to visit the Guruvayoor on Tuesdays after a two-and-a-half-month break.

b. You must fill in the complete address and Aadhar Number to prove your identity.

C. Fill in the email address or password and confirm the password.

6. Then, you must click the Continue button

7. You will receive An OTP to your mobile number.

8. Once you have entered the OTP, The registration process will be completed.

10. Enter the login information, such as the username and password.

11. After that, click on the Top Tab on Free Darshan or Special Darshan.

12. You must input the Devotee Details such as Date and Slot Time.

13. You must input the number of devotees. Devotees must be between 10 years of age to 65 years old.

14. Enter your total amount to be used for the Special Darshan. There is no amount to be used for Free Darshan.

15. After entering this, you need to fill in the details of each Devotee.

Darshan can only be observed at the Temple between 9 am and 1 pm. Devaswom Minister stated that 150 people could get Darshan within an hour. But, he added that the Darshan for VIPs was more expensive. It is not permitted in the Temple.

Guruvayur Temple Dress Code

People planning to visit Guruvayur Temple must adhere to the rigid dress code. The men are required to wear the mundu on their waists. And no clothes that cover their chests. 

However, it is permitted to protect the chest area by covering it with a tiny strip of clothing (Veshti). It is acceptable for boys to wear. The shorts are good. However, they can’t wear tops. Short skirts and dresses are not allowed for wear by women or girls. 

Girls must wear long skirts and blouses, while ladies can wear saris. The dress code for women has been relaxed recently by allowing the shalwar kameez (churidar pajamas).
