This is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva and is among the temples that date back to Bhubaneswar, the capital of the Indian state of Odisha, India.
This Temple stands as the most renowned attraction of Bhubaneswar city and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the state.
Its central structure is feet (55 meters) high. The Temple is the epitomize of Kalinga architecture and has culminated in the stages of medieval architecture tradition in Bhubaneswar.

- Shivratri is the most important festival celebrated annually during the month of Phalgun (Feb March). The Temple is crowded with thousands of worshippers, and the celebrations typically last throughout the night. People devoted to the Lord fast throughout the day, present Bel Leaves to Lord Shiva, and end their fast when they eat. Maha Dipa (a giant divine lamp) is incensed.
2. Ratha Yatra, also known as the chariot festival, is celebrated yearly around Ashokaashtami. The idol is encased in a chariot before being taken in an entire procession towards The Rameshwar Deula temple, and innumerable followers pull the chariots decorated with a beautiful design that belongs to Lingaraja and his wife, Rukmani.
